Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. The Cyrus siblings comprise two half-brothers and half-sisters, and one younger sister, brother and a half-sister. The name she was given by her parents because they wanted her to be successful. Miley became her childhood name Smiley because of its cheerfulness. Her maternal grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus was initially educated by Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. After she was eight years old, her family moved into Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus' father Billy Ray took a role in the TV drama Doc (2001). Cyrus made the decision to start acting around that moment. She played alongside her father, Doc (2001), in the beginning of the film. Her first appearance was as the father of Doc (2001). Cyrus appeared as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show that follows a teenager woman who lives a double life singing) as the main character. Once again, her father appeared alongside her. The show was a smash and record sales as well as sell-out shows and merchandise deals were followed. Cyrus gained fame when she was an early teen. After the success of Hannah Montana 2006, Cyrus moved into other role. She played Ronnie Miller and Lola alongside Demi Moore in The Last Song 2010 and LOL 2012.
